Pit Map:

A modern, searchable Pit Map for the 2025 Rhode Island FTC Championship will be made available in the coming weeks via FTC Events (https://ftc-events.firstinspires.org/2024/USRICMP/pitMap).

Schools with more than one competing team will have their pit tables located together.

Pit Amenities:

Each Team is allocated 1 Table, 2 Chairs, and a Power Outlet.

Pit Rules:

The pit area is a very busy place at the Championship, and the below rules must be followed AT ALL TIMES throughout the competition. Failure to adhere to tournament rules, failure to comply with safety directives issued by event staff and volunteers, as well as engaging in unsafe behavior within the pit or competition areas may carry significant match penalties, even for off-field offenses.

Dean's List Interviews

New this year, Dean’s List Semi-finalists will be interviewed by judges prior to the RI FTC Championship.

Dean's List Interviews will occur on 1/29/25 at New England Institute of Technology in East Greenwich (1 New England Tech Boulevard, East Greenwich, RI 02818). Erin Flynn will communicate directly with coaches/mentors of Dean's List Semi-finalists regarding Dean's List Interview Times.

Rhode Island FTC will nominate 3 Dean's List Semi-finalists to FIRST, who will represent Rhode Island at the 2025 FIRST Championship, held in Houston, Texas April 16-19, 2025, in their bid for one of 10 FIRST Tech Challenge Dean's List Finalist awards.

Schedule Information

Please scroll down to the bottom of this page to view/download the Live updating copies of the Judging Interview, Robot Inspection, and Field Inspection schedules, as well as the general Order of Events for the day. Please note - these documents are subject to change with or without notice. We will do our best to keep all schedules current and accurate as times shift throughout the day.

All Judging and Inspection will take place the morning of the event. There will be no activities and no team access to pits or the competition area on Friday, February 7th, 2025.

Hard-copies of these schedules will be provided to teams at check-in on the day of the Championship.

FIRST Consent & Release Forms

FIRST requires all youth team members to register in the FIRST Youth Registration System. Youth team members who have not registered will not be permitted to participate in FIRST remote or in-person team meetings, events, or competitions. 

Please note that on the day of the Championship, coaches MUST provide a copy of the team youth registration system with all students/coaches checked off green as part of check in. As you can see from the statement above FIRST, will NOT allow students/coaches to participate who have not completed and provided the form.

New England Tech Release Forms

All team members, coaches, and mentors participating in the Championship must complete and provide a signed New England Tech Release Form. This is required by the college. Please use the link below to download the Release Form. The form is in PDF format and can be completed and signed digitally, or printed and filled out manually.

Championship Fee

The 2025 Rhode Island FTC Championship will be $250.00 per team. There are two ways to pay - a Paper Invoice and an Online Payment Link will be included below.

Control Award

Please Note: Beginning in the 2024-2025 INTO THE DEEP season, there is no longer a Control Award Submission Form, nor are teams required to submit documentation separately from the Engineering Portfolio to be considered for the Control Award. Please see Section 6.2.6 in the INTO THE DEEP Competition Manual for further details on REQUIRED and ENCOURAGED information which must be provided to the Judges to be considered for this award.

Promote Award

Please Note: Beginning in the 2024-2025 INTO THE DEEP season, the Promote Award has been retired.

Advancement Information

The Inspire Award Winning Team and Winning Alliance Captain from the 2025 Rhode Island FTC Championship may elect to  advance to the 2025 FIRST Championship, held in Houston, Texas April 16-19, 2025, or the 2025 New England Premier Event held in West Springfield, Massachusetts April 4-5, 2025.

Additional teams will have the opportunity to advance to the 2025 New England Premier Event based on the Advancement Order on Page 19-20 of the INTO THE DEEP Competition Manual. (https://ftc-resources.firstinspires.org/file/ftc/game/manual).

Live Broadcast/Event Data

The 2025 Rhode Island FTC Championship will be broadcast live on Twitch and YouTube at https://riftc.org/live.

Check-In

All competing teams are encouraged to check-in by 7:45AM on Saturday, 2/8. Teams who have not checked in by that time risk forfeiting their spot in the Championship.

Engineering Portfolios

To be considered for most Judged Awards, teams MUST bring a hard copy of the Engineering Portfolio with the team number on it to the qualifier to leave with the judges. There are no printers available at the NEIT Automotive Center.

Practice Field

A Practice Field is available in the pit for teams to use during the competition. Teams may use the practice field only when judging, field inspection and robot inspection are completed.

WiFi Access

There will be an accessible WiFi Network during the Championship for team use. The Network Name is NEIT-Open. There is no WiFi password required for this network.

Autonomous Calibration

Teams who need to perform Lighting Calibration for their Autonomous Programs may do so on both Competition Fields from 10:00-10:15. Please note: this timeframe is for Autonomous Lighting Calibration ONLY; the Competition Fields are not available for use as Practice Fields at any time during the event.

Additional opportunities for Calibration later in the day may be provided at the discretion of Field Staff.
